The New Lunar Republic

Cake; cake, cake everywhere! It was wonderful! Celestia grinned at the valley of cake below her. All the cake she could eat! With her magic; she took a chuck of cake and opened her mouth; but suddenly a voice echoed in her head, causing her to awake to the non-cake-full reality. That voice...it was Luna's wasn't it? It sounded like her; but something was off...Something...Something...

Lazily Celestia opened her eyes, letting out a yawn. Why couldn't she be sleeping? She wanted that piece of cake. That was when she noticed 'Nightmare Moon.' She jumped up with a suddenly cry, but her hooves got caught in her blanket and she fell to the ground in a mass of feathers and blankets. Finally, the princess escaped her warm prison and sat up, her eyes narrowed at Luna. By Luna's left hoof; she hated it when Luna did that."Luna; I've told you not to do that!" However, after a moment, she broke. She started to laugh, raising a hoof to her eyes. "Oh; how I missed you when you were gone. My mornings were always so dull for those years."

As the illusion of Nightmare Moon shrank into Luna, she just grinned. "Well; It gives thou something to do. Its almost time to raise thou's sun. She replied. "Also, thou never knew Celestia could become imprisoned in something as weak as a blanket." Luna just couldn't resist the joke. "Thou also visited Twilight like you hath asked." As she looked at Celestia; she thought of something. And played a trick on Spike. As the allicorn unwrapped her sister and set the blankets back upon her bed; she wondered how her sister would react if she found out on what Discord did.

Celestia let out a small huff as she glanced at the blankets. "Hey; blankets can be viscous." She paused as she got to her hooves and looked out the window and to the sky. "I take it that it's time to raise the sun?" She would have liked to have a few more moments of sleep but she had a duty; one that was not once hers but now she had to...She sighed, ruffling her wings. She missed Sol so much.

Luna started to walk from her sister's room as she paused; "Oh; so you don't want to raise thou sun? If not; she would gladly do it." She responded to her sister's sigh. Yes; she did miss Sol; but she couldn't think about him much, because she would grow with dread sadness if she kept him in her thoughts for long. As she flew outside, she awaited for her sister to join, so that the sky would not be still without light; or darkness for longer then necessary.

"I never said that!" Celestia called after her sister as she hurried from her room, using her magic to grab her crown, necklace, and shoes. She missed the small glow from her crown which quickly disappeared as she placed it on her head. Finally she was ready and flew up to her sister, glancing at her. "Are you ready?" Her horn started to glow; gently reaching out for the sun so that she could move it while her crown also gave off a faint golden glow that was almost invisible.

The lunar princess nodded. "Yes." The allicorn said as she used her magic which faintly reflected to the moon on her crown. As she flew downwards lowering the moon; as the stars disappeared with the night. As she had finished her task; she landed upon the ground. She looked upon the sky as she watched the sun.

Celestia looked down at her sister as she did her part before the sun princess started her part and flew higher into the sky, the sun rising with every flap she did. She didn't notice her crown glowing brighter and brighter as she put more magic into her task until she finally stopped. She grinned as she watched the sun make the rest of the way into the clear sky before she flew down to her sister, and the moment her hoof touched the ground her crown erupted into a flash of golden light. She jumped back in surprise as the light fainted and her crown was...still there. Nothing had changed...or at least nothing had until she looked up. A pink cloud floated above Celestia's head. By Luna's left hoof...

Suddenly brown rain fell from pink cloud; pelting her body and drenching her mane and tail; which went limp from the rain. She let out a cough as she attempted to clear her eyes. Chocolate rain; Discord's favorite thing other then chaos. She sighed, shaking her hooves to remove the chocolate milk from them. "Did Discord touch my crown last night again?"

Luna put a hoof over her mouth as she used her magic to clean the chocolate from her sister. "Yes; Discord did. Twilight and herself pulled a prank upon Spike with a fake replica of thou's crown; but Discord took your necklace and crown and put it upon himself; Thy put them back; but thee kneweth not of this." The princess wouldn't lie; but it was a little funny. She knew Discord wouldn't touch her crown; because Luna would be furious with Discord; and she would probably make him unable to touch her again.

Celestia let out a sigh as she help started to clear up the chocolate rain. "It is fine, Luna, I believe that you didn't know. Discord knows he isn't allowed to touch my stuff..." She frowned, licking her lips. "He did always have a good taste in pranks thought."

Luna nodded. "Thou understand." As she looked up at the sky that was full of light; she looked back at her sister. "Thou know that today we are going to look for Sol." The princess added on; Discord was a handful at times; but it gave her a laugh once and awhile. As she spread her wings, the princess hovered in the air. As she remembered the gem from the corn her brother wore that sat in her room; she was glad that she would be able to find him.

Celestia glanced at Luna before nodding and took into the air after her. A frown appeared on her face as she gazed around. "First question...where to start looking? It has been twenty long years since his spirit disappeared from the sun..."

Luna looked over at her sister. "I think the best place to start would be around Canterlot, it would be best to survey the area. Do thou agree?" Luna asked. As a frown also came upon the princess' face.

Celestia glanced around the mid-morning sky, before nodding. "Perhaps. They we can move father out if we fail to find him. He always liked to hang around the castle, so so in all of these years I doubt that he has changed that much." With a flap of her wings, she moved higher into the sky, gazing at her younger sister. She was going to let Luna take the lead on this one, after all Sol was her twin.

Luna let a small smile appear before following her sister. She agreed with the plan, as she started heading towards the lower part of the castle. She looked around the area, glad to have her sister with her, just if she missed something, Princess Celestia could probably spot it.

With a small sigh, Celestia flew around the castle courtyard. Her white wings glittered in the sun-light, and she noticed a few of her guards looking up at her but she said nothing as she focused on looking for any sign of Sol; which she had a bad feeling that she wouldn't find. There was a small caw behide her, causing her to stop and turn around. Floating behide her was a phoenix, her phoenix to be exact. "Philomena, what are you doing out?"
The phoenix cawed again, flapping her fiery wings, her eyes flickering.
The princess frowned, realizing what Philomena wanted, before a smile appeared on her face. "Fine, you can help. You remember, Sol, right? We are trying to find him. If you find any trace of him, return to me or Luna as soon as you can. If you find nothing...just return when I call for you."
With a small nod, the phoenix grinned before flying off; leaving Celestia to go back to trying to find something.

Luna flew to a spot where she hoped he would be; right below the porch that was off from her bedroom. That was one place Luna usually found the prince. As her eyes searched, she sighed as he wasn't there. But, she wouldn't loose hope.

OOC: Feeling lazy

Celestia glanced around the royal Courtyard; sighing sadly. She saw no sign of her brother anywhere. She turned her gaze to Luna; seeing the younger Alicorn still looking for her brother. Did Luna really believe that Sol was to be found? He had disappeared over 20 years ago; even if he wouldn't appear to Celestia for very good reasons; he would have come running to see Luna once again...after all; Sol had been the one to see Luna turn into Nightmare Moon in the first place. It had to crush him seeing such darkness take over Luna; and then not seeing her for 1000 years because he was trapped...Celestia sighed as she shook her head; her eyes scanning over the Courtyard once again. Where could Sol be? She missed him...she wanted to ask for him to forgive her for taking his place so many years ago...

Luna started drifting towards the ground, to check if Sol was there. Looking back at Celestia, pain clouded in the younger sisters eyes. Landing, she looked around. Putting a hoof on a wall, she sighed. "Sol; please cometh back to thee." She said, quietly.

"I'm guessing you aren't have any luck." Celestia landed behide Luna; having spotted her sister when she was flying around. She sighed; glancing up at the her sky. Maybe if she had just listened to her siblings this whole thing wouldn't have happened...Her wings fluttered at her side. "Only if Avan was here...he was always good with tracking down Sol..." she grew quite. She hadn't spoken much about what had happen to Avan after Luna was locked away to Lu-Lu; as the thought only brought more of the day Luna was locked away to her mind; and the fight between her and Avan before he left. Even thought Luna was back he hadn't returned; something she would of thought he would have done...had he forgot about the sisters? Did he just not care anymore?

Luna nodded. "She is afraid so, Tia." The alicorn said. She missed Sol so much. "Would thou mind if I go to Ponyville for a bit? I won't be gone long."
